Russian SKS Rifle – 7.62x39mm 10 Rd Semi Auto Rifle – 20.5″ Barrel
The Russian SKS Rifle, chambered in the iconic 7.62×39mm intermediate cartridge, stands as a pivotal bridge between the bolt-action era and modern assault rifles, embodying Soviet ingenuity during the early Cold War. Designed by Sergei Gavrilovich Simonov and formally adopted in 1945, this semi-automatic carbine leveraged the newly developed 7.62×39mm M43 cartridge, a revolutionary round that balanced recoil, range, and stopping power for infantry combat. The SKS featured a gas-operated system with a tilting bolt and a fixed 10-round internal magazine, loaded via stripper clips for rapid replenishment. Its rugged construction, including a chrome-lined barrel for corrosion resistance and a distinctive folding blade or spike bayonet, made it ideal for harsh environments.
Produced primarily at the Tula and Izhevsk Arsenals between 1949 and 1958, over 2.7 million units were manufactured before the SKS was gradually supplanted by the AK-47 in frontline service, though it remained a staple for Soviet Border Troops and reserves well into the 1970s.

Tyrell Kennedy –
I see so many people online ripping off the gorgeous wood stocks to slap these into cheap polymer stocks and forced detachable magazines. The fixed 10-round magazine is how the rifle was engineered to run flawlessly. Keep it original and enjoy its history.

I’ve owned a few Chinese Type 56s, but holding a genuine Russian Tula is a completely different experience. Every single milled steel surface is finished beautifully, and the wood-to-metal fitment is remarkably tight. It’s the absolute pinnacle of original Simonov craftsmanship.
Blaine Macpherson –
My rifle came with a crisp Tula star and arrow stamp on the receiver cover, matching serial numbers on all parts, and the original blade bayonet. The reddish shellac finish on the Arctic birch stock looks stunning. It is a fantastic functional investment.
Jesse Black –
The classic under-folding blade bayonet functions flawlessly. The spring-loaded locking sleeve slides smoothly, locking the blade rigidly onto the barrel lug when deployed, and tucking perfectly flush into the stock recess when folded.

I hit the jackpot with this online order.
Garrett Davidson –
My rifle shipped with a gorgeous, dark reddish-amber laminate stock that features matching serial stamps.

There is something incredibly satisfying about pulling back the bolt, dropping in a 10-round stripper clip, and pushing the rounds down into the fixed magazine. It functions flawlessly every single time and always draws a crowd of curious shooters at the firing line.

I own a Chinese Type 56 and a Yugoslavian M59/66, but this Russian Tula is on another level. The machining is beautifully refined, the chrome-lined barrel makes cleaning a breeze, and it lacks the front-heavy weight of the Yugo grenade launcher. It is easily the best SKS ever made.
Colton Montgomery –
The trigger pack on this Russian model is noticeably smoother than my old Yugo SKS. There is a tiny bit of predictable take-up, but the break is remarkably clean with a very positive reset that makes rapid target strings an absolute blast.
