HODGDON H322 RIFLE GUN POWDER
More bench rest competitions have been won by Hodgdon H322 Powder than by any other propellant, taken together. It offers accuracy comparable to that of a match with cartridges with small to medium capacities, such as the 223 Remington, the 6mm PPC, and the 7mm TCU. I’ve tried a lot of propellants for my bolt-action .223, but nothing beats H322 for lighter bullets in the 40 to 55-grain range. It gives excellent velocity with slightly less powder weight required compared to ball powders like H335. Very efficient.
Alexis Stones –
This powder burns exceptionally clean. Even after a long afternoon at the range putting 80+ rounds through the rifle, there is very minimal carbon buildup in the barrel or action. Makes cleanup quick and painless.
Fletcher –
Unlike longer extruded stick powders that crunch and catch in the dispenser, H322 features very short grains. It meters beautifully and drops with high consistency every single time. It makes batch reloading an absolute breeze.
Connor McDavid –
I just opened a new 8-pound keg from a completely different lot number than my last batch, and the chronograph numbers are nearly identical. Hodgdon has their quality control locked down with this line.
Charles-Antoine Bérubé –
I have been loading this in my smokeless muzzleloader for a few seasons now. The ignition is flawless even when the temperature drops well below zero. It delivers incredible down-range energy and tight groups.
Kian Nguyen –
While most people talk about H322 for small calibres, it is also a fantastic choice for the .458 Win Mag. It gives great velocity and predictable pressures for big-bore cartridges. A very versatile powder to keep on the shelf.
Beckett Wilson –
The best thing about Hodgdon’s Extreme line is that my point of impact doesn’t change. I can develop a load during a hot July afternoon and shoot the exact same tight groups during a freezing January coyote hunt. It is incredibly stable across all seasons.
Yukon Miller –
I use this primarily for my .222 Remington and .223 varmint setups. It consistently prints sub-half-inch groups at 100 yards. If you want match-grade accuracy out of small-to-medium cartridges, this is the gold standard. Worth every penny.
